I came across this article in a local news paper the "NST". I found it very2 interesting, Skateboarding is very popular to the young generation at least in the city. We see it in many tv commercials, billboards and also on some packaging of drinks and food products. Even some local tv drama portrayed youth skateboarding to give the image of urban youth livestye
Melaka a modern city is without a skate park and this article is about it, how we the skateboard community or for this instants Mohammad Amziry Roslan, 25, is contributing his effort for a skate park
for the youth community espacially in Melaka
He won RM30,000 for himselft and RM100.000 for the cause but not from skateboarding but from a photograhpy competitions, For me and all ot the other skateboarder in Malaysia can never raiseup that amount of money even if we add up all our winning prize together from all the skateboard competitions in Malaysia
Hope to skate at the so call new skate park in Melaka when we balik kampung, cause our parents are orang Melaka.

KUALA LUMPUR: "Wanted!! New Skate Park!!!" says the skateboard framed by what appears to be a vacant lot. All that can be seen of the person holding it are his legs and feet firmly planted on the ground.
The photograph bagged 25-year-old Mohammad Amziry Roslan the first prize in the open category of the CIMB Foundation "My Cause" photography competition. He won RM30,000 for himself and RM100,000 for the cause close to his heart.
"My brother used to stay out late and... one day I followed him and found out that he was skateboarding with his friends at the Malacca Parade courtyard. I was scared to death... Police have been breaking up skateboard gatherings because of complaints about the noise."
He entered the competition hoping to get the funds to help build a skate park for the growing number of Malacca youths who are into extreme sports. The photograph is set in the disintegrating skate park built some 15km outside Malacca under the Rakan Muda programme three years ago. The nearest facility for enthusiasts is in Seremban some 30km away.
"On the foreground is the need for a proper skate park and in the background is the message that many youths, who I purposely illustrated as faceless, are not getting the attention they need."

Fairuzal and Koya Wins at YSB anual extreme sports Carnival, Koya using Kamikaze Black Brigade skateboard emerged champion while Fairuzal last year's champion was second beating big names like Usher,Fuad,Adam Kepong and Amcher. Jojo of Shah Alam who compete for the fist time in Kedah was third. The local Kedah skater which we observe is becoming lesser and lesser, most of regular YSB and independent Kedah skater did not compete or has give up skating.
